About Us

The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) is a prestigious professional organization established in 1948, under the patronage of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, with a vision to spearhead the growth of aeronautics & aerospace in the country. With 18 branches across the nation and membership exceeding 15,000 professionals, and over 10,000 students, AeSI has been fostering a connected ecosystem of R&D organisations, industry & academia, propelling India towards global leadership. The primary goal of the society, is to promote the development of aeronautics and astronautics in India and foster communication among professionals and organizations in this field.

OBJECTIVES
To promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge of Aeronautical and Aerospace Sciences/Technologies. To strive for the elevation of Aeronautical and Aerospace profession.

ORGANISATION
Over the years, the Society has grown into a major Professional body in the field of Aeronautics, Aviation & Aerospace. The Society has 18 branches at all the important centers of aviation in the country viz. Agra, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Mumbai, Nasik, Nagpur, Pune, New Delhi, Sunabeda, Thiruvananthapuram & Kanyakumari. Society also has Journal Division and two special interest groups CFD Division and Design Division at Bangalore.

ABOUT PUNE BRANCH

Pune Branch, the 15th branch of AeSI was declared open on 09th Dec 2003, the first centennial of flight.

Shri NR Mohanty, Chairman & CEO, HAL, laid the foundation stone of Pune branch and Late Prof. PU Deshpande, Former Director, ARDE, Pune was elected as its first President.

The vision of the branch is to leverage & synergize the collective strengths of Services, R&D organisations, industries and academia, to place Pune firmly on the aerospace map of the world as a global center of excellence.

With this vision in mind, in the last 20 years, the branch has successfully organized several seminars, conferences, workshops, aero-shows, aero-modelling courses, student competitions, lectures & webinars on topics related to aeronautics & aerospace.
